In a world of digital transformation it is very important to know the specific needs in the digital construction process (BIM) well. ThorbiQ therefore joins the BIM Platform. “At ThorbiQ we feel the need to further discuss this current theme and to further inform and inspire construction professionals on the basis of relevant cases.”
Many manufacturers are already betting on BIM today. Nevertheless, we notice that construction actors are still left displeased. We hear more than once “manufacturer specific BIM content does not appear in our BIM models!”. Does that mean that manufacturers cannot play a role in BIM? Anyway! Manufacturers are an essential link in the digital construction process. In addition, they benefit from differentiating themselves from other construction professionals during every phase of the construction process. By dealing with BIM correctly and offering a digital (BIM) service, a manufacturer can create strong added value on top of its products.
The role of the manufacturer: on BIM objects and BIM libraries
On Monday 18 November, some 150 construction professionals gathered at the Communication Campus in Ghent for an inspiration session from the BIM Platform on the role of the manufacturer, BIM objects and BIM libraries.
Such sessions are essential to deal with the increasing complexity and to secure the future. It is therefore advisable to continuously inform you about the things that are coming with a view to seamless digital cooperation in the construction process.
