In 2015 I came across Wim Tas who quite easily convinced me that the solution they could offer would solve two major concerns: being specified well and at the same time being BIM-ready at an unseen level.
Although the platform was only on the drawing board back then, it was worthwhile to be patient. With the platform being launched shortly, I’m personally convinced that the next phase of going international, will benefit both Foamglas and its customers. We firmly believe ThorbiQ can make the difference.
At Niko, we immediately recognised that BIM has great advantages for our customers. As we wanted to offer them a free BIM library and therefore needed to develop BIM objects, we went on the lookout for a good partner.

Venturing in the world of BIM was far from evident for Soudal, mainly producing adhesives, PU-foams and sealants and selling them through distribution and retail; lower interest products for a specifier. Our preframe for window installation offered a better opportunity, but creating BIM-objects seemed daunting, as was losing control over them on online libraries.
ThorbiQ offered us a way out. Thanks to their practical and engineering background, combined with some serious knowledge on BIM and digital design, we soon were able to create our own Soudal branded BIM-platform. ThorbiQ performed on schedule and showed great flexibility in the process. Let’s hope the Window Configurator soon adds to that positive experience!
